- In charge and responsible for the daily laundering (washing, ironing and/or pressing, folding) of all table linen, towels and bed linen
- Responsible for the correct handling of the laundry procedures for passenger- and crew laundry
- Responsible for the controlling of external laundered linen and uniforms, including quality control and control of delivery notices
- Co-responsible for the issuing, controlling and taking back of company’s uniforms
- Responsible for the correct storing of all linen and uniforms on board
- Co-responsible for implementing and maintaining the RC standards in the housekeeping department
- Responsible for immaculate cleanness, tidiness and hygiene in the ship’s laundry department
- Co-responsible for purchase orders for the laundry department in cooperation with the Senior Chambermaid*
- Co-responsible for the correct handling and storage of all housekeeping supplies, detergents and equipment
- Cooperation with the stock taking of housekeeping inventories
- Participation in the on board training program
- Daily cooperation in the correct distribution of daily programs, gift orders and the realisation of the proper turn down service
- Welcoming the passengers and escorting them to their cabins during embarkation
- If necessary assistance with the cleaning of passenger cabins
- Assistance with the loading of ship’s supplies
- Various preparatory duties prior to and at the end of the season
- If necessary helping out in other departments according to superior’s instructions

The candidate has to prove education in catering school or courses where the basic standards are educated. Five star Hospitality experience without any graduation might be an option.

The employee is entitled to 6 days off per month. Per month or part thereof the days are calculated pro rata. Individual days off may be give onboard the ship according to the booking situation. The 72 days for the full year (12 month) include all days off/vacations days and public holidays according to Swiss law (52 Sundays and 9 public holidays = 61 per year)
