Care assistant jobs improve the lives of vulnerable people.

You will work with people on a weekly or daily basis assisting them in practical activities such as going to the shops or helping people to bed. You could be working in a care home or visiting people in their own homes depending on the job and assisting care workers in their activities

-Caring for you clients, who can include: children, the elderly, and people with disabilities and families; by assisting with medications to helping with household chores. There will be slight differences in the type of activities depending if you are a day or night care assistant.

-Assisting with other care staff e.g. care manager, home manager and care workers

-You may be liaising with people from other departments such as; social services, housing officers and GP’s, so you will need to have good communication skills.

-You will need to be sensitive to people of different backgrounds and be able to listen and communicate well with your clients. A second language may be required in some cases.

-Generally you will need to be a caring and patient person

-Some post require you to be driver.

Locations: The care homes are especially situated in quiet places, surrounded by peace and silence, far the agitation from the agitation from the big cities. The placements can be anywhere within the UK

All the candidates must have an online CV in Work Experience data base containing at least the following:

-experience with vulnerable adults and elderly care, as care assistant, social assistant, elderly care, care givers, etc.

-English language - must be at conversational/medium level.

So Experience and English is a must.

Other requirements:

-The Care Homes prefer females but man also are accepted if they have good experience and good English.

-Age range preferable is from 25 to 45 but The Care Homes accept from 20 to 50 if there is good experience and good English

-Qualification diploma is not required, but if you have one t my be an advantage.

The care staff we place will be Self Employed. Our services will include finding proper accommodation, arranging National Insurance Number, bank accounts, applying to the Home Office for the Registration Certificate, complete all administration work and completing your self employed documentation we will also work with your accountant to make sure that you submit all paperwork in relation to the HMRC making sure that you are able to work as a self employed person in the UK Legally.

Free placement - Work Experience provides all its services for free. The costs of the placement will be covered by the employer.

Hours Per Week: 35 – 50 hours, depending with possibility of working extra hours up to 60 hours/week

Type of Employers: Care Homes, Nursing Homes, Domiciliary Care (this means caring for people in their own homes please see attached job description)

Accommodation: £ 65-70/week

Utilities: the majority of the accommodations have the bills included in the price of the accommodation.

Food: Some employers provide food during work shifts, which is payed by the candidate but the price is very low: £1,0 - 1,5/meal, and you can also cook at the accommodation.

Transport: If the accommodation is not walking distance from the employer you will pay a maximum of £3-5 for a return trip daily.  This will be rare cases.

State Taxes: taxes are played from the annual profit

Contract period: Minimum of 12 months contract, with possibility of extension or termination of the contract accordingly to the agreement with the employer.

Adult nurses provide care and support the recovery of patients suffering from acute and long-term illnesses and diseases or those requiring surgery. They focus on the needs of the patient rather than the illness or condition. They also promote good health and wellbeing through education. Nurses plan and carry out care within a multidisciplinary team but are the main point of contact for patients.

Adult nurses work mainly in Care Homes, attached to a health center or general practice and in residential homes, specialist units, schools and hospices and some nurses work with patients in their own homes.

Gaining the trust and confidence of each patient is an important role for nurses, as they have more continuity of patient care than other members of the medical team.

Patients may have chronic conditions, such as diabetes or heart/kidney problems, or serious acute conditions, such as heart failure, stroke, hepatitis or burns. They may be in hospital for surgery, admitted to accident and emergency with injuries, attending an outpatient clinic or undergoing tests and assessments.

Patient care is currently becoming more community- based, so there are increasing opportunities to work in the community. The aim is to avoid hospital admissions whenever possible by giving preventative treatment, and also to meet patients’ needs in the comfort of their own home and avoid the unnecessary travel associated with hospital appointments. It is possible for a newly qualified nurse to work in the community, although many gain a year’s hospital experience first.

In all contexts, nurses need to establish a good relationship with the patient and their relatives.

Day-to-day pressures and duties will depend on your role, but typical work activities can include:

• writing patient care plans;
• implementing plans through tasks such as preparing patients for operations, wound treatment and monitoring pulse, blood pressure and temperature;
• observing and recording the condition of patients;
• checking and administering drugs and injections;
• setting up drips and blood transfusions;
• assisting with tests and evaluations;
• carrying out routine investigations;
• responding quickly to emergencies;
• planning discharges from hospital and liaising with community nurses, GPs and social workers;
• communicating with and relieving the anxiety of patients and their relatives;
• advocating on behalf of patients;
• educating patients about their health;
• organising staff and prioritising busy workloads;
• mentoring student and junior nurses;
• maintaining patient records;
• making ethical decisions related to consent and confidentiality.
