The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Waiter include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for assisting in achieving the departmental guest satisfaction targets and the food and beverage revenues determined by the Company for the restaurant organization.
- Checks with every guest, during each meal period, to ascertain satisfaction with service and food.
- Follows and is compliant with all Public Health rules and regulations.
- Oversees, directs and instructs appropriately his/her assistant in order to ensure timeliness of service and guest.
- Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
- Acts in a supervisory role when asked or scheduled by the restaurant management seeing to successful completion all the tasks and projects that are assigned.
- Takes ownership and sees to completion the side duties assigned by management such as inventories, linen, china, glassware, menus, stateroom wine deliveries, uniforms and orientation for new or returning crew.
- Assists management in conducting the training of waiters, junior waiters, restaurant stewards and mess staff. Attends the regular departmental meeting and the training sessions as scheduled.

Requirements

The candidate has to prove education in catering school or courses where the basic standards are educated. Five star Hospitality experience without any graduation might be an option.

- Must be able to communicate fluently in English languages.
- Minimum of three years working experience in a fine dining environment in hotels or restaurants.
- Proven track record in achieving positive guest comments, service scores and high beverage sales.
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge expressed in positive results in company tests.

The purser staff performs the duties the front desk in a hotel lobby perform. The purser staff are considered officers and must report to the chief purser. The purser staff is trained in immigration and customs laws and is responsible for all the documents and papers needed for traveling. They also establish and manage passenger's accounts, overall revenue accumulated on board. All financial matters are dealt with by the purser staff.
